2022’s BEST WEDDING TRENDS

Sustainable Bridal Fashion

The fashion industry is a major contributor to waste and in the recent year, sustainable fashion has increased in popularity, especially within the bridal industry. Many breakthrough designers are prioritizing ethically made wedding gowns. Along with sustainable wedding dress designs, weddings are incorporating more eco-friendly ways to host a “green” wedding. A trend that we all love to see going into the new year.

Virtual Invitations & Save the Dates

A popular wedding trend in 2022 was virtual wedding invitations and save the dates. With the pandemic and societies being more eco-conscious, sending invitations via email made the most sense. No “save the dates” getting lost in the mail and quicker RSVPs gained more appreciation this year.

Detailed Nail Designs

Regular French tips? Nope. 2022 made room for more intricate and beautiful nail designs. The detailed designs and use of other colors became a hot wedding trend. Brides learned that it contributed to making their whole wedding look more special.

Large Bows

Large bows and grand details on wedding gowns were a major wedding trend this year! The large bow has a way of elevating an elegant and minimal design. This was also seen in hair accessories, the pretty and ultra-feminine wedding gown detail will be seen on more modern wedding gowns into the new year.

Pants Suits

In 2022, pantsuits gained more popularity because of its chic, modern, and accessible nature. Arguably, pantsuits are more comfortable and an ideal option to wear for micro weddings, elopements, and other pre-wedding celebrations. We’re all about wearing what makes you feel confident and beautiful on your wedding day, so we love a chic pants suit going into the new year.

Extravagant Jewelry and Accessories

Every year brides are finding ways to make their wedding day unique to their style. Large gemstone rings and gold hair accessories appeared more and more on wedding days. Elaborate accessories added more glamor in the best way.

Romantic Elopements

Elopements became popular during the pandemic. However, in 2022, with travel restrictions being reduced little by little, couples discovered other ways to make elopements special and more romantic by being more creative and thoughtful about the location. Getting married in exotic beach destinations, majestic red deserts, or rustic and dreamy forests to make their intimate nuptials magical.

Oversized Blazers

Blazers for all!  Traditionally, we’d only see men wearing  blazers and suits on their wedding day, but ladies have joined in on the action. They are chic and cutting edge especially paired with a pleated midi-skirt or wide-legged trousers. Genderless fashion is flowing into the bridal industry and we are here for it.

Multiple Outfit Changes

Foreign cultures like our sisters in Asia and Africa are no strangers to multiple outfit changes on their wedding day. Making your wedding day special may include an outfit for every occasion. And we don’t mean just two. This year wedding outfit changes went up to three or four depending on the ceremony and the bride. As lovers of fashion, we love this trend for a modern bride!

BRIDOL - The Annual Magazine

Okay, this isn’t a trend, but this is something we will continue to work on and strive for in the coming year. Stay tuned to see what we have in store for our next issue that will continue to be cutting edge and highlight real weddings, powerful women, and of course gorgeous bridal designs.
